    Creative Investment Program Application Workshop (Not for Profit Organizations)

    Broward Cultural Division invites interested participants from the community to a workshop for the Creative Investment Program for Not for Profit Organizations.The purpose of the Creative Investment Program is to assist eligible Broward County not-for-profit cultural organizations with annual operating revenues of less than $100,000, to fund small cultural projects for which applicants have not received funding through any other Cultural Division program.
    The project must be an exhibition, a performance, or other arts activity. The workshops will also cover how to submit an online application.Organizations must be registered with the Florida Secretary of State as a cultural, not-for-profit corporation. They must have operated in their discipline(s) in Broward County for a minimum of one uninterrupted year following incorporation; and must have provided services in Broward County for a minimum of six months following the date of incorporation.

2015 Annual Planning Forum

    The Broward Cultural Council will convene is 2015 Annual Planning Forum at ArtServe on Wednesday, April 29th.
    Members of the community are invited to an arts and cultural ideas exchange. We eagerly encourage artists, local arts supporters, elected officials, arts organization executives and members of the business and arts community to attend and participate. "We always want to involve the community and stir up excitement for Broward County's arts and cultural progress," says Cultural Division Director Earl Bosworth.

The evening begins with a networking reception with light refreshments, followed by presentations and special performances.

The 24 members of the Broward Cultural Council make recommendations to the Broward County Commission on cultural policy, arts and culture grant funding, and public artwork selections.

Business Plan Clinic & Workshop - June 27, 2015

    Broward Cultural Division, the Florida Small Business Development Center in Broward, the South Florida Regional Planning Council and ArtServe will offer an informational business plan clinic and workshop to assist artists and creative entrepreneurs.

    The Business Plan Clinic guides participants through preparation of a simple business plan, an essential tool for any artist. In addition, participants will learn how to effectively work with lenders to obtain financial support. The workshop will be facilitated by George Gadson and Rafael Cruz both with the Small Business Development Center and Cheryl Cook, economic development specialist with the South Florida Regional Planning Council.Participants will have the opportunity to network with past alumni of the Artist as an Entrepreneur Institute.
